Not all names in these atlases have been indexed. Only those individuals who are the subjects of short biographies or whose names appear in lists are included in the database. By reading the text you may find spouses, children, siblings, parents and in-laws, even though their names are not searchable. Also check the maps to see if the person you are researching appears as a landowner.

Names have been entered into our database as they appear in the text, with some first names abbreviated. For this reason, it is best to search for a surname by itself, but you can also try searching by "surname, first name."
